Shoal Bay Public
28th May 2007

Oh what a big day! Some students came suitably dressed, with much colour, on their hair, faces and clothes. Many parents came and helped, along with the teachers, making for a real circus family! Good luck with your on going circus practice!

Phew! That's another tour over.... Time for a rest...

Old Bar Public School

25th May 2007

We loved sharing the 3 / 4 classroom for the day. A raucous show! Enthusiastic and caring teachers, and very friendly students. Thanks to all who helped make it a fun and co operative day!

Nambucca High School
24th May 2007
A very creative group of the finest high school drama students balanced, juggled and hooped along with us. Today was the day Lazuli was (mistakenly) recognised as someone famous – perhaps from Play School.

Staff and students were very friendly at this school, and wow did they enjoy the show. With helpful comments from the audience along the way, we 3 Co-opra-tiers learned how to work together, have fun and get along, once again! Thanks to our two unicycling volunteers, and thanks to Macksville Public

Coffs Harbour Public School
Tuesday 22 May 2007
At Coffs Harbour we did our show and two circus workshops. We enjoyed meeting the students: they had fun, worked safely and never, never, never, never gave up. We did our circus show for them, and then they did two circus shows for us!

What a scream! Teachers and students together and individually make a circus. We felt right at home! We left inspired about learning, from the colourful and thoughtful walls that fill the school. What a fantastic atmosphere this community has created.

A lovely town, nestled in the forested hills. The staff and students were equally as lovely. Everyone was like fluffy clouds, happy and light. Definitly the cutest and cosiest school we have ever visited. We met interesting individuals with a remarkable selection of names.

3 days of workshops, and 2 extra helpers from the local circus community - Sue and Elke. It was an exciting and colouful 3 days. The students at this school were keen diaboloists, and excellent balancers. Each class put on a great show. The students were all enthusiastic and very diligent with their practising.

A misty morning, surrounded by clouds, was brightened by smiling faces at Tabulum. We'd stayed in Miss Bindy's bus, and it was a short drive to school, Tee even walked home afterwards! Quite a novelty. On the way home there was more juggling practice with some rocks and keen students. We had a fantastic day, with the staff and students. We even had one of the teachers up to help us out with our workshop! Great questions after the show, and helpful hands at the end of the day who packed our bus, as seen here. Thanks Tabulum and Drake.

We spent the day accompanied by the schools up and coming stars, who by the end of the day could've run the workshop themselves. We all enjoyed performing for this group of expressive, creative young people, who laughed with, and at us. The workshops were great, with an act that looked a lot like our hula hoop number.....

Moree East Public School
4 May 2007
A big day of circus workshops, these students have excellent memories. Since our performance last November, many students could still talk about the show, characters, tricks and Miss Draper riding the Unicycle!

95km East of Bourke is Brewarrina. We were welcomed into town with waves and smiles. We spent the afternoon with Bre’s youth Circus, where the senior students ran a fabulous circus class. Everybody was focused and stretched and tumbled very well. The next morning was a show for the primary students. They enjoyed our performance, and were very interested in Heidi’s violin

Bourke is on the beautiful Darling River, and between two days of shows and workshops, we enjoyed walking and sitting by the river. We saw black ducks, a water rat, eagles, parrots and kangaroos. Students in Bourke were very friendly, they enjoyed our show and learned a lot of circus skills in the workshops.

The very first day of our 2007 tour brought us to Inverell High School. This school was built a long time ago, and has a theatre with small stage, lighting and good acoustics. The drama teacher and yr 9 lighting student were very helpful. The audience of Yr's 7-10 were a joy. The show was followed by a circus workshop for the schools many drama students.

In the beautiful Warrumbungles National Park, each November is a great concert. We provide a huge circus skills play-space for the children’s entertainment. We have worked at this concert for the last three years, and are getting to know the children and watch some of them grow up. Parents were thrilled their children were entertained and learning skills.

Primary and High School students alike enjoyed the antics of our show. We had a very supportive interactive back row in the audience. After our presentation they showed us their talents in a circus skills workshop. Students at this school seemed to have a strong ‘Can-Do’ attitude: good on you all!

Students were glad to see us again, and remembered us from 2004 when we performed there last. Miss Draper stole the show when she volunteered in the unicycle scene. We loved performing against the beautiful hand-painted backdrop. Here are some beautiful drawings by the students.

A surprisingly cool wind for Wilcannia this Wednesday morning, we had a warm and friendly welcome from Teachers and students who worked together to set up the seating, and helped us bring in the costumes from the car. We did a show for the whole school, and the preschool kids came over as well. We thought, “Wow, Wilcannia what a nice place”. The students and teachers were all lovely.

We performed our show with all of year 7 and drama students from years 7, 8, 9 and 10. We’re not sure who was funnier, them or us! They then had a drama student circus skills workshop where they all had a turn at juggling, poi, unicycle, hula-hoops, and we finished with a show off-session. Post your comments or questions here!
